Rwanda Charity Eye Hospital (RCEH) is a specialized eye hospital located just outside Kigali, at 12 km from the center of Kigali.

We work with a team of specialized eye doctors, ophthalmic clinical officers, optometrists, opticians, nurses, anaesthesiologists, pharmacists, adminstrative staff, maintenance technicians and supporting staff.

RCEH collaborates with all health insurances in Rwanda, including CBHI (community based health insurance). Patients who come with CBHI need to come with a referral letter from a district hospital. Other health insurances we work with are RAMA, MMI, Old mutual, prime medical insurance, Sanlam medical insurance, Rwanda bar association, UR , etc.

Opening Hours: from Monday till Friday (from 7 am till 6 pm). The hospital is always open for eye emergencies (7/7, 24/24). The RCEH optical shop is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. We work on a first come first serve basis. If one desires to skip the queue, please make an appointment via phone number 0788894942. An extra fee is applicable for fast track (skipping the queue).

RCEH has a pharmacy for dispensing eye medication and an optical shop for dispensiong professionally made glasses.
